All Souls’ Day is the Czechs’ most powerful autumn commemoration

Observed on 2 November, All Souls’ Day blends Christian prayer with deep-rooted folk tradition as people across the Czech Republic visit cemeteries, light candles and decorate graves. Its story reaches back to pre-Christian customs of firelight, disguises and remembrance of ancestors.
