Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is Webmint s.r.o. (owner: Tomáš Rohlena), Jana Želivského 2, 130 00 Prague 3, Czech Republic, EU, email [email protected] ("we"). This policy explains how we process personal data when you use the Gardenino website.

2. Legal framework

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679), the Czech Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on the Processing of Personal Data, and the ePrivacy rules on cookies. For visitors in the United States we also honour applicable state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

3. What we collect and why

  • Newsletter — your email address and chosen language, to send the content you subscribed to (legal basis: consent). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
  • Comments — name, email, optional website, comment text, IP address and user agent, to publish and moderate comments and prevent abuse (legal basis: consent and our legitimate interest in a spam-free site).
  • Ratings — an anonymised hash of your IP address to prevent duplicate votes.
  • Server logs — technical data such as IP address, browser and pages visited, for security and operation (legitimate interest).
  • Cookies & tracking — see section 5.

4. Advertising and analytics partners (processors / third parties)

We use the following third-party services, which may process data as independent controllers or as our processors:

  • Google AdSense — personalised and non-personalised advertising and frequency capping.
  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — audience measurement and site statistics.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — spam and abuse protection on forms.
  • Google Programmable Search (CSE) — on-site search results.
  • Mailgun (Sinch) — sending newsletter and transactional emails.
  • OpenAI — used in our editorial workflow to translate content (no website-visitor personal data is sent to OpenAI).
  • Cloudflare — content delivery and security.

These providers may transfer data outside the EU/EEA, including to the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

5. Cookies and consent

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Site (session, security, language and your consent choice). With your consent we also use analytics and advertising cookies. We apply Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept, advertising and analytics storage remain denied. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using the cookie banner. US visitors may exercise opt-out / "Do Not Sell or Share" choices through the same controls.

6. Personalised advertising

Google and its partners use cookies and identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits, unless you opt out. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings and learn more at How Google uses information.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Under US state laws you may have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information. To exercise any right, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz).

8. Data retention

We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, comment data while the comment remains published, and logs for a limited period for security. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16 (or the age set by your local law) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; the current version is always on this page. Questions or data requests: [email protected].
